Housing and Transit Part of Mayor Villaraigosa's Vision for Los Angeles

Affordable housing and improved transit are major elements of Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa’s vision for the city. Villaraigosa is talking about building more homes in areas with good transit and building UP rather than sprawling OUT. Understanding that the City needs to play a key role in addressing both homelessness and the affordability crunch, Mayor Villaraigosa announced $50 million in City funds will be used for housing homeless people and his support for $1 billion local bond for housing at the Mayor’s Housing Summit in October.
